We left Gillespie Field bound for Lake Tahoe and then onto Denver. Shortly after takeoff the pilots notified us that some of the planes alarms were sounding. After reassuring us that we were safe, they informed us that the alarms had something to do with the engine. Initially we turned around and headed home but the pilots decided to fly the plane to Long Beach since that is where the plane recently had the engine serviced. We spent a few hours waiting for the engine to be fixed or a relief plane to continue our trip. Once we realized that neither was going to happen, we drove back to San Diego in a rental car.
