Aujourd'hui, c'était la journée de Gaudí...pour moi, pas pour la ville.  I took a bus tour of some of the buildings that architect Antoni Gaudí i Cornet designed here in Barcelona.

We went to see the Parc Güell and the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Familia.  En route, la guide nous a raconté la vie de Gaudí et elle nous a indiqué quelques autres édifices qu'il a dessiné.

Me at Parc Güell
At the end of the morning tour, the bus was to head back to the Plaça Catalunya where we started, but I decided to stay at the Sagrada Familia and spend more time in the museum underneath it.  The estimated completion date for the church is an optimistic 2050; pessimistic is never.  The architects currently working on the construction are using computer design software and are only now understanding the genius designs of Gaudí - he was way ahead of his time.  He used environmentally-friendly construction practices long before anyone else even thought about doing this.  Mariah would have loved to have seen these incredible buildings and heard about his life...but she's having fun making videos in Caitlyn's backyard in Puçol.  ;-)

I spent the rest of the day taking the metro around town to some of the other building that Gaudí designed in Barcelona.  The detailed mosaics and architectural innovations are fantastic!  This is one of the highlights of my trip in Europe so far.

J'ai visité les édifices suivantes : La Casa Vincens, La Pedrera, La Casa Batlló et le Palau Güell.
