After mass, we went downtown to catch the bus to Eze. When we got to the bus station, the bus that was supposed to have left at 11:30 am was still there; the bus driver said that he was waiting for a mechanic and didn't know when he'd be leaving.
Since almost everything is closed in Europe on Sundays (it's said that Sunday is the day that Europe sleeps), we were hard pressed to find something to eat that was quick. So we had lots of time to eat the yummy pizza...and wait...and wait...
Before the appointed time, another bus driver and a mechanic showed up and tried to get the broken-down bus going, to no avail. They left and eventually returned 45 minutes after the bus was supposed to have left and this time were able to get the bus going. By now there was quite a crowd waiting, so we made sure to hustle on and get seats.
First, we went on the tour of the Galimard factory, but the chick doing the tour in English pretty much ran through it and didn't really provide any useful info. This tour (in English - the girls' choice) was much better that the one at Galimard, but yet a bit abbreviated compared to the tour at the Fragonard factory that I did in Grasse the previous week. Caitlyn fell in love with one of the perfumes - Île d'Amour. :-)
It was a bit disappointing as the alley is lined with shops and stone walls so that you can't see the beautiful view of the steep hillside down to the sea unless you go into one of the two restaurants or the swanky hotel at the top.
When I rejoined the girls at the bottom of the hill, they told me about a group of South Koreans that arrived dressed in traditional Korean costumes.
We headed back to Nice, had supper and relaxed by the poolside into the evening.
